Help us stop the slaughter of the magnificent dolphins and whales in Mexico, Japan and in the Faroe Islands, by making a donation to launch Project Blue. The dolphins and whales have never needed you more. The slaughter and consumption of cetaeceans can no longer be justified by unethical fishing practices and outdated "traditions," that no longer have a place in a civilized and enlightened society.
With growing knowledge, there is concensus amongst dolphin and whale researchers, that these amazing animals have sophisticated, evolved
intelligences, and a heightened sense of self.
We now
understand that much of
whale and dolphin behaviour is cultural, learned and passed down through
generations. They, in different ways from us, have distinct
personalities, identities and self awareness. They can think about the future, and they have
the innate ability to learn language.
Dolphins and whales have
complex decision-making and communications structures, social learning and cultural transmission that have taken a different evolutionary path from us, to suit the radically different environment they live in.
Their survival is already greatly compromised by the heavy metals that contaminate the oceans from our activities. It's time for us to decide
that we believe dolphins and whales do have a right to their lives, their
liberty and the protection of their home and family.
